Learning the Heuristics of Hub Identification over Brain Networks

Vol. 8, No. 8, pp. 1-8, 2026 DOI: 10.54691/y6py3q21 August 22, 2026
Abstract.A plethora of neuroscience studies find that connector hub nodes play a key role in regulating multiple modules and supporting brain functions such as consciousness and cognition, due to its critical topological location in the network. Current approaches mainly rely on the hand-crafted attributes (aka. graph embedding at each node) from the domain knowledge of network neuroscience such as high connectivity degree to identify connector hub nodes. However, simple ranking heuristic based on the pre-defined attributes has limited power to characterize the complex network topology, which often … Read more →

Research Progress on Fire Resistance Performance of Buckling Restrained Braces

Vol. 8, No. 8, pp. 9-15, 2026 DOI: 10.54691/gek0jf68 August 22, 2026
Abstract.Starting from the key influencing factors such as core material, size effect, thickness of fireproof coating, filler and filling gap, the research progress of Buckling-restrained Brace (BRB) fire resistance is systematically reviewed, and it is pointed out that optimizing the thermal expansion matching between the restraining member and the core material and using the coating with low thermal conductivity can significantly improve its high-temperature bearing capacity. Secondly, the failure mechanism of three types of BRB under fire is analyzed, and the applicability of the existing fire … Read more →

Research on the Treatment Technology of Sulfur-Containing Tail Gas Using Chelated Iron

Vol. 8, No. 8, pp. 16-23, 2026 DOI: 10.54691/p34jx706 August 22, 2026
Abstract. This study investigates a chelated iron‑based process for H₂S removal from sulfur‑containing tail gas. Eight chelating agents were evaluated for iron complexation capacity at different pH values. The effects of pH, chelator mixing ratio, and Fe³⁺/Fe²⁺ molar ratio on desulfurization performance were examined through 42 complex systems using MATLAB regression analysis. Results show that pH 8–9 enables >90% H₂S absorption. HEDP exhibited the highest iron complexation capacity (30.8 g/L at pH 10) but poor stability; TEA and HEDTA performed stably across the tested pH range. Among the three … Read more →

Prediction of Sample Curing Index Data Based on Cubic Hermite Interpolation

Vol. 8, No. 8, pp. 24-28, 2026 DOI: 10.54691/hp5je082 August 22, 2026
Abstract.Cubic Hermite interpolation is a fundamental and widely-used interpolation algorithm in numerical computation. This method can generate functional expressions based on discrete sampling data to realize data inference and trend prediction. Distinct from other interpolation methods, Hermite interpolation matches not only the function values at interpolation nodes but also the first derivatives at these nodes. This characteristic enables the algorithm to fit the original function more accurately, yielding smoother and more precise curves especially in the vicinity of discrete nodes. In this … Read more →

An Epitaxial Layer Thickness Inversion Framework Based on Cauchy Dispersion and Multiple-Beam Interference Models

Vol. 8, No. 8, pp. 29-40, 2026 DOI: 10.54691/3972yn72 August 21, 2026
Abstract. For measuring the thickness of epitaxial layers under infrared reflectance spectroscopy conditions, this paper proposes a thickness inversion method that integrates spectral preprocessing, interferometric model identification, and iterative optimization of dispersion parameters. First, the Savitzky–Golay filter is applied to suppress high-frequency noise while preserving the extrema characteristics of the interference fringes. Based on this, a dual-beam interference thickness calculation model is established, and the Cauchy dispersion model is introduced to describe the variation of refractive … Read more →
